Moving houses during lock down period can be even more difficult then normal due to covid-19 restrictions applied by the government. Most moving companies in Auckland will operate during these lock downs up to level 3 only as level 4 means total lock down and everyone stays home except very essential workers.
In order to operate under lock down levels 2 & 3 the moving companies should only be operating if they have applied the required safety measures and followed the government’s advice on what is required. Below let’s list some of the safety measures applied by us as the best moving company in Auckland.
Basic hygiene measures put in place as per governments advice
- cough or sneeze into your elbow or by covering your mouth and nose with tissues
- put away the used tissues in the bin or a bag immediately
- wash your hands with soap and water often (for at least 20 seconds) or use hand sanitizer
- avoid close contact with people who are unwell
- do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
- Clean surfaces frequently
Training of staff members
The team has incorporated a covid-19 training schedule which comes in place when ever we go into lock down. The team is now fully trained and ready to move houses with restrictions in place during level 2 & 3. It is important to have such training due to the safety of our staff and our clients, so we take great pride in being the leading Auckland movers and safety is our priority.
This training also ensures our fellow clients that their scheduled house moves will not be interrupted during level 2, 3 lock downs. Also, tour lovely clients will be happy to know that all staff is fully trained and will keep in mind their safety and others.
Safety equipment on the fleet
All our fleet including vans and trucks have been loaded with the safety equipment required in order to carry out a safe furniture moving service. The safety items that our staff will carry on our fleet are as listed below.
- Face masks
- Sanitizer’s
- Gloves
- Tissue boxes
As well as this basic hygiene measures our staff will be equipped with the above safety equipment as well as any other equipment, they deem necessary as per the individual preference and needs of the staff.
Safety while moving furniture
As part of the training provided our staff is required to follow the safety measures they were taught. We also incorporate a working bubble structure which ensures that the team is divided into separate bubbles and those bubbles created will last through out the lock down.
It ensures that if any of the staff in that bubble feels sick will require the whole formed bubble to take the time off and self-isolate with a covid-19 test to be carried out for any concerns. Then the other stand by team will take over and carry out the required furniture move.
While moving furniture our team will ensure a minimum 2 meter distance is kept at all time from any other individual who is not part of the bubble and we expect our clients to accept this same pre caution in order for safety of both the client and staff.
Lock down as we know can come into place as short as 24hrs of notice or less, so the training and structure we have set up gives us the upper hand on dealing with such notices and our staff is notified ASAP of the lock down and to get their bubbles in place for the next move.
Happy moving everyone ?
